Townsend Farmers Market — Wrapping Up the 2026 Season

As summer begins to give way to fall, the Townsend Farmers Market is nearing the end of another wonderful season at Wi-Fi Park.

The 2026 market season began May 21 and has brought local growers, bakers, ranchers, food vendors, and crafters together every Thursday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. What started as another season under the tents has grown into months of good food, locally raised products, handmade goods and, most importantly, neighbors supporting neighbors.

Throughout the summer, shoppers have been able to find an ever-changing selection of locally grown vegetables, including asparagus, lettuce, spinach, peas, tomatoes, sweet corn, potatoes, onions and more. As fall approaches, the colors and flavors of the season are beginning to change as well.

One of the things that has made this season special was the variety of people who participated. Some vendors were with us regularly, while others joined us when their produce was ready, their schedules allowed, or they had something special to offer. Each one helped make the Townsend Farmers Market what it is.

The market has always had a simple philosophy: “Grow it, Make it, or Bake it.” Our goal is to give people in Broadwater County a place to sell what they raise, grow, make, and bake while giving our community an opportunity to shop locally and know the people behind the products they purchase.

We are especially grateful to everyone who came through the market this summer. Whether you stopped every Thursday, visited only occasionally, bought a tomato or two, picked up a loaf of bread, enjoyed some barbecue, or simply walked through and visited with your neighbors, your support mattered.

We also want to thank our vendors. Setting up a farmers market booth takes work. There are tents and tables to haul, products to prepare, early mornings in gardens and kitchens, animals to care for, and plenty of cleanup when the day is finished. We appreciate every vendor who helped make the 2026 season possible.

The regularly scheduled 2026 Townsend Farmers Market season runs through Thursday, September 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Wi-Fi Park in Townsend.

There is also the possibility of continuing the market into October if the weather cooperates and there is enough interest from vendors and customers. Any decision to extend the season will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

Until then, we hope everyone will come out and enjoy these final markets of the regular season. Fall is a wonderful time at a farmers’ market, and there is still time to stock up, enjoy something good to eat, and support the people who grow it, make it, and bake it right here in our community.

From all of us at the Townsend Farmers Market, thank you, Broadwater County, for supporting local.
