Broadwater Food Panty Update
Paula VanHoudt
Thanks to all our wonderful benefactors, volunteers, and community members for making 2025 such a successful year for Broadwater Food Pantry (BFP). Special thanks to those who donated time, money, beef, venison, produce, and other staples needed by our clients.
This group of volunteers was also instrumental in helping us move back into our original facility, after it had been refurbished due to flooding.
Throughout the year, we continue to see an increased need for food security in Broadwater County. As grocery and rent costs rise, our community has stepped up to provide for our neighbors who are unable to deal with those rising costs.
We encountered growth in our county with new arrivals needing temporary assistance. Some are battling illnesses or injuries, keeping them out of work. Excessive medical costs strain already stretched budgets.
BFP is also actively supporting the backpack program at our local school. The program discreetly provides non-perishable food items; the children can bring home for weekends or during breaks.
BFP is an independent non-profit organization operated solely by a volunteer workforce. So, 100% of your donations go directly toward assisting our clients. BFP looks forward to your continued support in 2026 and beyond. You are making a difference!
