Local Actors Provide a Laugh A Minute at Dinner Theater
If you like comedy theater Saturday night at the Lodge was your cup of tea. Actors from Winston and Townsend kept a standing room only audience laughing from the time they began their “business meeting” until the murder of Santa was solved.
Flirty Sally, played by Rehanna Olson, worked at enticing board member Brad (Pat Plantenberg) and sheriff (Zach Johnson) to join her for mistletoe mischief while board chairwoman Lee(Renee Bauer) did her best to keep the meeting moving along. Lyz (Chloe Johnson), who is Flirty Sally’s conservative daughter, works at trying to keep her mom in line.
Suddenly, everyone notices a terrible smell coming from under the office table: board members discover a box containing the dead Santa Claus. As the sheriff arrives, so begins questioning of who killed Santa, including strategically placed members of the audience. With Candice Marchetta’s sign coaxing, reaction from the crowd continues to goad the actors into even more antics. Finally, Flirty Sally confesses and all’s well that ends well.
An excellent four- course dinner, cooked by Broadwater Community Theater board members, ended with beautifully decorated cupcakes and cookies from baker Brenda Phillips's kitchen.
