Speaking of volunteering, Angel Rodriguez of Art of the Angel has added the finishing touches to the windows at the Bird’s Nest on Broadway. The detailed windows portray a snow-white Santa and a shining Christmas tree, just in time for the Christmas Stroll last Saturday.
The talented man, who has been drawing since he was in grade school, has had no professional training in art. He began his career in the tattoo arts but built his skills in woodwork. He and his family have lived in Townsend for six months, having moved here from Helena. The 45-year-old was born in Puerto Rico and moved to this country many years ago to become a citizen. He now operates a small shop at the Bird’s Nest, thanks to owner Gena Berry. He does small woodworking jobs and operates a handyman business. Rodriguez can be reached at (406) 438-6892 or by calling the Bird’s Nest.
