Sugar Plum Fairies and a Toymaker took up residence at the Lodge on Sunday for a perfect children’s tea party.
Little girls dressed in tutu and fairy costumes floated around the room while moms and grandmothers enjoyed tea, hot chocolate and sandwiches during the Nutcracker Tea and Dance produced by Leslie Eichinger of Helena’s Wander North Event Productions.
Townsend’s own Nutcracker dancers performed under the instruction of dance teacher Lenna Parr. Other enticing activities included making your own Christmas decorations or taking a real photo with pastel Polaroid cameras. Even some brothers and dads got in the act, although they were very subdued among all the little girls in costume.
The event was catered by Sadie’s Catering of Bozeman and Townsend Mercantile. Molly Watne of Bedrock Hill Farm made literally 100’s of fancy cookies.
The event was open to the public via online reservation, Eichinger said. She had produced an Alice in Wonderland themed event at the Lodge last year.
