BHS Bulldogs End Football Season with Win at Whitehall

On Friday, October 17th, the Bulldogs Varsity football team travelled to Whitehall to play the Trojans. The Bulldogs went into the matchup with a 2-2 conference record and a 4-2 non-conference record.
The game started with the Bulldogs having the ball, and they scored on the first possession when Tavyn Anderson ran the ball in for a touchdown. Logan Johnson’s kick for the extra point was good, putting the Bulldogs up 7-0. Then the Bulldogs stopped the Trojans, giving them possession. Tavyn Anderson had a good run, putting the Bulldogs close to the end zone. The Bulldogs were able to score the next play. The Bulldogs attempted a two-point conversion but came up short. Once again, the Trojans had the ball, but the Bulldogs forced them to punt. Tavyn Anderson was able to get the Bulldogs close to the end zone, so the Bulldogs were able to score. After a successful two-point conversion from Bryce Lessley, the Bulldogs were up 21-0. The Bulldogs made another defensive stop, giving the Bulldogs the ball. The Bulldogs fumbled and the Trojans recovered the ball. After that, the Bulldogs gained possession again and Bradan Martin scored a touchdown. After Logan Johnson’s extra point, the Bulldogs ended the first quarter up 28-0.
In the second quarter, Bryce Lessley scored a touchdown, and Logan Johnson kicked an extra point, which gave the Bulldogs a 35-0 lead. Then the Bulldogs scored another touchdown, and Logan Johnson kicked another extra point. At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs were up 42-0.
In the second half, Bradan Martin had a long kick return to set up Tavyn Anderson, who ran the ball in for another touchdown. Once again, Logan Johnson kicked the extra point, and the Bulldogs are up 49-0. The Trojans scored a touchdown to end the third quarter with a score of 7-49, the Bulldogs up.
In the fourth quarter, the Trojans scored another touchdown and scored a two-point conversion. Later in the quarter, the Trojans fumbled with Bulldog recovery. Marek Easter ran the ball for a touchdown and Logan Johnson kicked an extra point to end the game with a 56-15 win.
Next Friday, October 24th, the Bulldogs will travel to Columbus to play the Cougars. This is the Bulldogs’ last regular season game before heading into the playoffs.
