Lack of Knowledge, or Mental Illness?
Good blustery October afternoon. I really try to not talk politics, but the crazy world keeps nudging me to write and pick a side. There are no sides, there is only “Common Sense”. Before I get a bit more lighthearted, I will expound on what I mean. In and around 1776, England told us, a misfit colony, “Keep quiet and just do as you are told”. Yeah, that never works, especially to a very young group of folks who wish to be free and build a nation. So, when they got a bit irate, we tried to talk first, then we shot them! America has never had after the Revolutionary war, a king! No matter what some people think about a certain person, who was elected by the people of America. To demonstrate against a so-called “King” is complete idiocy.
NEXT TOPIC: Autumn.
I realize I tend to harp on it around here, but this weather cool down is great! Also, the changing colors of the leaves and the beautiful night sky are a beauty that many people elsewhere do not enjoy. Take note of it and breathe in the cool, fresh mountain air. With just a hint of wonderful wood smoke! I have already put on a flannel shirt!
Have you winterized your home and vehicles yet? Get to it! I finally rolled up the garden hoses and covered the outside water faucets with the Styrofoam covers. (Those are available at any hardware store.) Get in a good store of peanuts for your squirrels, never mind the birds! They are just eating, breeding, and pooping machines. Squirrels are fun to watch.
I am amazed with our weather patterns around here; last week we had about 2 – 3 inches of snow on the ground. Now it’s mostly all melted - my snow shovels and mowers are fighting to get out the door.
The “Ghost Stroll” will actually be on Halloween this year; remember to watch for the little urchins and their parents when driving around. Where are ALL the downtown fall decorations this year? Is everyone just tired? Wake up, the cool fall weather is here…I know, I know everyone is out hunting. Getting their winter food stocked up for winter. And because, as the comedian Dennis Miller said years ago, “Because deer need to die!”.
I like to think we have more sanity around here than in most of the nation. It feels like it, but Boz- Angeles, I mean Bozeman, had a “no Kings” rally last week. The less said, the better, just keep them down there! What is it about freedom that causes so many people to dislike and try to destroy a country? Sorry, no more politics.
Enjoy our upcoming Holidays. Start hunting for those unknown gifts now. Soon it will be too late! Happy Autumn, folks. Try not to run the holidays together. Enjoy family and friends, live, laugh, love. Remember the Creator is watching - not Santa, his boss.
