Sometimes chicken poo can smell like money! Jill Flynn Broadwater County Social Services Committee Sometimes chicken poo can smell like money! In the case of the 2025 Chicken Poo Bingo event, sponsored by the Broadwater County Social Services Committee (BCSSC), it resulted in 4 lucky winners of $150 and $75 prizes.
Chicken Poo Bingo is in its fifth year at the Townsend Fall Fest. The event raises funds for Kids Count, a Broadwater County Social Services Committee program, which purchases school supplies, school clothing, winter clothing, and other school necessities for children in the Townsend school system.
Every year, BCSSC provides several thousand dollars in aid to local children, and this event is the only fundraiser to support the program. Bingo players purchase numbers on a grid placed in large cages. Chickens are turned loose in the cages, and the numbered squares that receive the first “deposits” are the winners.
This year, first-place winners were Gayle Watson and Jeff Diehl. Second-place winners were Hunter Anderson and Jason Noyes. Congratulations! The Broadwater County Social Services Committee would like to thank everyone who supported our programs by purchasing tickets. They would also like to thank the many business sponsors:
Opportunity Bank, Lions Club, C Hanging C Mercantile and Creamery, Better Built Builders, Bob’s Supermarket, Jalken LLC, BSE Excavating, Fish Tale Tavern, Infinite Hope Counseling, Lakeside Distillery, Mikula Tactical, Quick Construction LLC, The Copy Cup, Bobert’s Tire and Glass, Bread and Butter, Canyon Ferry Brewery, Helping Hands of Townsend, JB3 Customs, The Birds Nest.
A special thanks to Mr. Watson and Spencer Abbott for construction assistance and to Jakob Rainey for marketing help.
Anyone interested in supporting the Kids Count program may send donations to BCSSC, PO Box 342, Townsend, MT 59644.
