This year, the Old Baldy Adult Education Program has truly come alive, drawing in record numbers of participants and offering a diverse lineup of classes that foster lifelong learning, community connection, and a whole lot of fun. Our high attendance numbers reflect the growing interest in skill-building and social engagement across Broadwater County.
Highlights from This Year’s Program:
• CDL Training: Our Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class kicks off in November, preparing local residents for in-demand careers and helping to keep our community moving forward.
• Mahjong: Nine enthusiastic attendees gathered to play Mahjong, enjoying both the challenge of the game and the camaraderie it creates.
• Open Gyms: Whether it’s pickleball, basketball, or lap-walking, our open gym sessions provide a welcoming space for all ages to stay active and connect with neighbors.
• Jewelry Making: Creativity is on display in our jewelry making class, where participants learn new techniques and leave with handcrafted treasures.
• Beginning Guitar: Five motivated learners, guided by a fantastic new teacher, are strumming their way through the basics and building a foundation for musical enjoyment.
• Conversational Spanish: High attendance in this class shows the community’s passion for expanding language skills and cultural horizons.
Get Involved—Teach, Learn, and Give Back
Teaching a class or sharing a skill is one of the best ways to give back to your community—and it’s also a lot of fun! Our instructors come from all walks of life, bringing unique talents and a spirit of generosity that make every session memorable. If you’ve ever considered leading a class, now is the perfect time to get involved.
What’s Next?
• First Time Homebuyers: An upcoming class designed to guide participants through the home-buying process with confidence.
• Beginning Taxidermy: This hands-on course will have each student crafting their very own Jackalope—a quirky and memorable project to take home!
