Family of Sherri A. Johnson
Sherri Ann Johnson, age 65, passed away peacefully at the family home on September 28th, 2025, after a long illness. She always maintained an attitude of love and support for her family and friends.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 30th, 1959, where she spent her formative years. She moved to California with her mother, June, when she was five. There, she gained her stepfather, Nick E. Miller, and became a big sister to Nick A. Miller and later, little sister Vicki Miller. The family moved to Chiloquin, Oregon, where she attended high school.
Always ready for the next adventure, she packed up and headed to Montana in 1980. Starting out part-time and eventually moving to full-time – she worked in the Classification and Appraisal Bureau for the State of Montana. Later, she moved to the Department of Health to establish the Nurse Registry Program. Retired from the State in 2003 due to declining health.
She met and married Edwin Johnson in Helena, Montana, in 1985. To this union were added Matthew in 1989 and Erin in 1991. She loved being a mother and was devoted to her family. She really enjoyed a good cribbage game and tried not to rub it in if she skunked you. She was a crafty woman and always kept a horde of craft supplies around. She made paintings, beadwork and flower arrangements. She also had a love for wolves and lighthouses.
Sherri was preceded in death by her mother, June Miller, stepfather Nick E. Miller and Uncle Mike McGovern. She is survived by her husband Ed Johnson of East Helena, son Matthew of East Helena, daughter Erin of Helena, her brother Nick A Miller of Roseburg, Oregon, and sister Vicki of Roseburg, Oregon.
The family will be holding a private graveside service on October 10th at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison.
