Its Rodeo Time

IT'S RODEO TIME and the Rodeo Club has some great things to share!

The Broadwater Rodeo and Fair Association, Inc. (Rodeo Club) is pleased to announce that we were very fortunate to receive two grants this year for our 2025 Public Enhancement Project at the Rodeo and Fair Grounds. The Broadwater County Trust Board and Rotary Club have graciously provided funds to help us install a new sound system for the outdoor arena, purchase a new commercial lawn mower to ensure the grounds remain in top-notch condition, add a much-needed storage facility, and do a major overhaul on the Handicap Park area to better accommodate folks. We will also be building a new security/windbreak fence at the north end of the grounds, installing a Recognition/Memorial Board for the Handicap Park, and conducting some much-needed repairs on a few areas of the arena. We send a huge THANK YOU to the Broadwater County Trust Board and the Rotary Club for their generosity, making these projects possible.

Every year, we hold work days to clean up the property, make improvements and prepare for rodeo weekend. This year, the club has received a tremendous helping hand from the Rocky Mountain Rough Hands 4-H Club and members of Big Sky, Big Leaders. In June, the 4-H families spent a few hours helping the Rodeo Club do some spring cleaning (raking, weeding) and hanging sponsor signs. This month, members of Big Sky, Big Leadership will help us with some painting and landscaping. We are beyond appreciative of all of this help. Thank you, kindly.

The Rodeo Club puts a great deal of time, effort and money into maintaining the rodeo and fairgrounds, but we can’t do it alone: Over the years, folks have made financial donations in memory of/ in honor of loved ones or special individuals/groups. The donations have often been used to build and enhance the Handicap Park area. We have decided to revitalize this effort and are encouraging folks to make donations so we can improve the seating and aesthetics of the Handicap Park. Daniel Harrigfeld will be building us a new Recognition/Memorial Board for the park area. We will use this kiosk to spotlight donors and share important information. Feel free to reach out to Denise Thompson (406-949-1118) or any member of the Rodeo Club for additional information or to donate.

All you rodeo fans will be thrilled to hear that the Rodeo Club is bringing back SHEEP RIDING! This fan-favorite event is making a re-appearance after a nearly 35-year hiatus, and will be held at the start of the Friday and Saturday night NRA rodeo performances. Don’t miss it!

The Rodeo Club will also be introducing a new event for the Broadwater Western Days Youth Rodeo. Dummy Roping will make its debut during the Thursday night youth rodeo and will be a great addition for all.

The Rodeo Club takes great pride in bringing quality performances to all the fans who look forward to this event year after year. We also take great pride in keeping the facilities in quality condition. Many comment that our Rodeo Grounds is one of the best in the state and we plan to keep it that way. With that said, we always welcome and encourage others to join the Broadwater Rodeo and Fair Associations. Many hands make light work and your talents and time would be greatly appreciated. Reach out and join the club!

We tip our hats to this wonderful community for your never-ending support and passion for the sport of rodeo. THANK YOU! See you Rodeo Weekend, August 7-10, 2025, the first full weekend (including the Thursday) in August. Many folks plan their family and/or class reunions around the rodeo and fair. We look forward to seeing you!
