Ninth Annual Broadwater County-wide Yard Sale

On July 19, 2025, Missouri Valley Marketing (MVM) will be hosting the ninth annual Broadwater County-Wide Yard Sale.
In June of 2017, MVM sponsored the first County-Wide Yard Sale. We didn’t know if there would be enough community support or if people would attend the event. We advertised the event locally and in the Helena Independent Record, the Montana Standard and Mini Nickel papers, and on event websites in Helena, Butte and Bozeman. That year we had 40+ yard sales registered and hundreds of people both local and out-of-county shopping the yard sales.
In 2018 we had a terrible day: torrential rainstorm and wind. We still had hundreds of people attend and reports of great sales.
As part of the event we create maps that list all of the registered yard sales. In addition, we create a 3D interactive Google Earth map will all of the yard sales. To make the maps readable, we isolate the many areas of Broadwater County hosting yard sales. To make sure that everyone gets covered, we have even created maps with just one yard sale listed. The maps will be available by July 15 at:

Printed maps will be available at the Reading Leaves Bookstore, Birds Nest and the Mercantile. You are still invited to register your yard sale after July 15. While it won’t be listed on the printed maps we will add your yard sale to the online maps.
Over the last 9 years we have had as many as 60+ yard sales registered and the event has brought in even greater number of people to the event. We now advertise in the Independent Record, Butte Montana Standard, Boulder Monitor, Three Forks Voice, Whitehall Ledger and White Sulphur Springs Chronicle. We post the event on Facebook: Townsend Classifieds, Three Forks Classifieds, Whitehall Classifieds, Helena Classifieds, Anaconda Classifieds, Deer Lodge Classifieds, Butte Classifieds, Bozeman Classifieds and White Sulphur Springs classifieds. We also post the event on the Helena events, Butte Events and Bozeman Events websites.
There is NO CHARGE to register a yard sale. We gladly accept donations to defray our advertising and printing costs but there is no fee to have your yard sale registered with us and listed on our maps. If you are too shy to call us to register a yard sale or maybe don’t believe there is no charge, you are welcome to have your own unlisted yard sale --- we don’t mind. There are enough people just driving around the area who will see your sign.
