Illegal Trash Dumping Along Indian Creek

It has been brought to my attention by one of my neighbors that people are dumping a lot of trash up and down on the South side of Indian Creek Road, between Desert Drive and up towards the Limestone Plant and the county transfer station.

The trash is right next to Indian Creek and often interrupts the flow of the creek. My neighbor was riding his ATV the other day and met one of the Broadwater County Sheriff Deputies inspecting one pile of trash, including a lot of empty beer cans, and he led the deputy to another pile.

Through forensic evidence found at both piles, the deputy was able to identify and ticket the perpetrators. Naturally, they denied the dumping. The deputy is an outdoorsman, appreciates our wonderful landscape, and hates to see people trashing it.

My neighbor told me that when he goes for a ride, he always takes a couple of garbage bags with him and sometimes picks up enough trash to fill the bags, which he then takes to a proper dumping facility.

Perhaps the dumpers don't live in our county or are renters who don't or won't pay the $10.00 a year tax for trash dumping or are people who just plain don't care.

There is absolutely no excuse for this rampant trash dumping. This is Beautiful Montana. Don't trash it.
