Months of preparation led to the two nights the Drama Club put on "Annie". The cast worked hard and was able to put on a hilarious show on April 28 and 29. Angel Sentinella, who played Annie, did a great job leading the show and singing all of her songs. She helped the cast members with their lines and helped to boost the energy on set. The last few days were stressful. She helped provide the cast with what they needed to finish the show.

This was the last play of the year and unfortunately two girls' last performances in high school. Haylie Reinke and Jazlyn Martin put their hearts and souls into their performances and left it all out on the stage. They owned the spotlight the entire show. They are not strangers to the stage and have been in just about every production. Jazlyn has been in five plays and Haylie has been in four. Haylie Reinke helped Director Denise Bakkum by planning much of the choreography in the show. She knew it by heart and would often spend hours after her normal rehearsals practicing. She put in two hours at normal practices just to run through lines and choreography afterwards by herself. This play was, in her words, "Way better than the rest. There was more singing and dancing and we were able to show off everyone's talents. A piece of advice is to live life to the fullest and not care what others think. Being yourself is the most important thing."

Angel Sentinella, who is a sophomore, has spent a lot of time with Jazlyn and Haylie this year. Whether it was cheerleading in the fall or speech and drama in the winter, she was always with one of them. She learned a lot from them and was able to use those lessons to be the lead in the musical. Her role in Annie required a lot from her, not only memorizing lines, but the choreography on the stage. She was on stage quite a bit and had to know the entire show like the back of her hand. She did great and put her all into it. She even dyed her hair for the role, showing her true dedication to "Annie".

Angel has always had a passion for acting and singing so this was her ultimate dream. To help her prepare she said, "I listened to the songs I sung on repeat every day to get the lyrics and notes memorized. The vibes and energy were always so fun and positive. Most of the time thanks to Haylie. It was a little stressful the week before, but that's normal."

Everyone did a great job, even in front of the full crowd both nights. The Drama Club at Broadwater High is blooming with talent, which shows in the twice-a-year productions. They showcased everyone in this year's musical and some are already looking forward to next year.
