Instant Gratification - Why Sometimes We Need to Wait!

Is there a reason why everyone seems to NEED everything done RIGHT NOW? Life isn’t all McDonald's; many times, McDonald's isn’t even McDonald's (especially if you want “extra crispy” fries), but it seems like every time you want to do something, you just feel like, "I want it NOW!"

When local or national leaders wish to improve things for us, people think it’s only going to be a couple of days. “BUZZ, Wrong answer, but thank you for playing!” Life moves at the speed of …well, life. People are generally a bit slow, especially when they have to undue things that someone else had changed or screwed up. Look at our great little town; we NEEDED the fire hydrants dug up and to have valves replaced. The folks who did the job did a great job with little or no disturbances. Yeah, we had to have some of our water turned off, but for the most part, they warned us. (And I might add they did a quick and efficient job.) It was a great effort, I remember thinking, "Where are they digging today?" They moved from street to street quickly! Thanks guys.

That is what CAN happen when people are allowed to do the job without any interference. I am NOT going to talk Politics (… mostly); however, can you imagine how incredibly efficient our Federal Government would work if these “People” would not constantly seek to stop the workings of a cooperative, team effort to really make the country a better place for US? America would be amazing! However, any gathering that seeks to rule “ANY” Government will have very bumpy roads. Why? Because we are ALL HUMAN and never seem able to work together without egos and entitlements getting in the way.

All the “politicians” (sorry, didn’t mean to swear at you) are supposed to work for US, they are not meant to become millionaires. Our representatives are supposed to stay in their districts! Not live in Washington D.C. They need to be able to actually LISTEN to their constituents, you know, “We the People?” Not be in constant meetings with National labor or massive companies. They SHOULD be talking with their state Governments, finding what their people want.

Our state leaders need to step up and lead! Yes, they need to go make decisions in Washington for the bigger picture so they can THEN bring their people’s needs to the Federal Government (When you have representatives who “need more money” to live in Washington). They need to realize they do NOT need to stay in the city! Our new leader is trying to put things right, yet like before, the “other side” is doing nothing but trying to stop ANYTHING he’s trying to correct. See the title of this article NO “Instant Gratification.” Things take time to work! It’s been less than 4 months? That’s pretty fast to me!
