Overview:

Rocky’s Foster Grandparent Program connects volunteers aged 55+ with children who need extra academic and emotional support in Lewis & Clark, Silver Bow, Jefferson, Broadwater, Deer Lodge, and Powell Counties. Working in schools, preschools, and Head Start classrooms, these volunteers provide one-on-one mentoring, literacy assistance, and companionship. Last year, they dedicated over 31,000 hours, positively impacting more than 1,200 children.

Impact:

Teachers see the difference every day! Lacie Lovshin, a 3rd-grade teacher at Whittier Elementary in Butte, shared, “The difference Grandma Hall makes in our classroom is unforgettable. She worked closely with one of our students in math, and his growth has been unbelievable—from below benchmark in the fall to exceeding it in the spring.”

Volunteer Information:

Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend, mileage reimbursement, and other benefits while making a lasting impact. Want to get involved? Call Rocky's Foster Grandparent Program Director Angela at 406-457-7362 or apply online at https://www.rmdc.net.
